Choosing the right core bit

First choose the hole diameter and your machine’s connection, for example 1 1/4" UNC or R 1/2". Then the material decides: reinforced concrete needs segments that cut rebar cleanly, while a fast-cutting bond suits masonry and brick.

The working length determines how deep you drill in one pass. Longer bits pay off for wall penetrations; short versions are enough for boxes and installations.

Wet or dry core drilling

Wet core bits work with water flushing, cool the segment and carry away the slurry – the right choice for concrete and large diameters on a rig. Dry core bits suit masonry and smaller diameters, ideally with dust extraction. Accessories such as pilot aids make a clean start easier.
